Wait - Don't Go!
There's a good chance that you've wandered onto this site by mistake, led here by entering a seemingly innocuous keyword into a search engine
which is too clever by half. Unless you happen to be one of my relatives in which case, "How are ya, Cuz".
I can understand that you desperately want to be somewhere else but now that you are here, why not stay awhile and see what the site has to
offer. Or at least read to the bottom of this page before you continue with your search.
This site is about a number of my experiences in the year 2000 AD which I think, in their own way and for me at least, were a bit special. (No,
come on - you did promise to read to the bottom of the page at least). I did not set out to do anything special during that particular year. It just sort of happened that way.
On the 11th March there was a Family Re-union which was attended by over 120 relatives. There were some who had not seen each other for
over thirty years and some who were meeting for the very first time. It had taken me about nine months to organise and, though hard work at times, I enjoyed it all enormously. The re-union was a huge success and a great time was had by all.
This was followed by a trip to Wembley on 16th April to watch Stoke City, my home football team, play in the Auto Windscreens Shield Final.
OK, it was not the FA Cup but the stadium was full with 80,000 supporters and it was a truly magnificent occasion.
From the 2nd to the 30th of May, I had a great time riding a motorcycle coast-to-coast across the USA, from New York to Los Angeles. I
crossed 18 states, covered over 6,000 miles and saw some of the most magnificent scenery anyone would wish to see.
Finally, on the 28th October, I bought a new car. I have bought nearly-new cars previously (and quite a few old bangers as well) but this is the
first car I have had from new. 12 miles on the clock, 3 years warranty and, of course, that new car smell.
So having read this far, what do you reckon? There are more details and photographs available at the click of a button. The trip across the USA
has got to be worth a look just for the stunning scenery alone.
Go on - go for it!
